Excess and emission of ammonia (NH3) causes several harmful effects on poultry farms. The use of measures to mitigate NH3 volatilization allows, in addition to environmental benefits, to improve animal weight gain, reduce the concentration of pathogenic microorganisms in litter, reduce morbidity and mortality in chickens, having direct consequences on health benefits and well-being. -animal welfare and indirectly in the economic result of productive activity, namely by allowing the reduction of ventilation flows to maintain air quality and reduce the costs of heating installations in the cold season. This project will demonstrate the best techniques to mitigate ammonia emissions in the poultry sector; its effects on animal health and productivity; and the advantages associated with adopting the best available techniques in relation to productivity and the environment.
