This project aims to design specific immunocastration protocols for Bísara swine animals, which allow the animals to be kept under a regime of suppression of reproductive activity for prolonged periods of time (which are not possible with the administration regime developed for the production industrial products). The quality of the raw material obtained (Bísaro pig meat) will also be analyzed to prove that the protocols to be developed do not result in depreciation of the product or affect its use in the traditional processing industry. These innovative protocols, specific to the breed and its production system, will allow increasing the flow of Bísaro pig meat for the production of products processed with PGI, with high added value, standardizing its quality and also promoting the use of modern reproductive management techniques that promote animal welfare, an additional way of valuing products from this breed.
